Nadja Smith is a documentary producer based in Berlin. She studied photography and audiovisual production with focus on documentary at the Free University Berlin and at the University of Applied Science Bielefeld, Germany. Between 2006 and 2008 she worked for the German broadcasters WDR and rbb/ARTE. In 2008 she started to produce her own cultural news program for the Catalan broadcaster BTV, in cooperation with the Goethe Institute in Barcelona. In 2011 she started working as an assistant producer for different Berlin based companies (f.e. credo:film, MEDEA film) , then later as a production manager, freelance producer, and from 2013 to 2017 as the head of her own production company [N]SMITH focusing on social and cross-media documentary and international co-production. Since May 2018 she is working as a documentary producer for Berlin based company Flare Film.
